Seismic enhancement of the 1930's building formerly the Christchurch Art Gallery.

Robert McDougall Gallery is a Grade 1 heritage listed building, formerly the Christchurch Art Gallery.  The 1930's building was assess as an earthquake prone building under Section 122 of the Building Act 2004 - due to brittle collapse from reinforced brickwork.

Cequent is managing the design for seismic enhancement of the building.  This includes cost/benefit options review and the manaing specialist contractors to undertake trial coring of 5.5 metres depth through 180mm wide brick walls, to assess their ipact on the building fabric.  Project budget $2M.
