Christchurch City Council Libraries Projects
The Lyttelton Library and Lyttelton/Mount Herbert Community Board Boardroom project sees two tired and earthquake damaged buildings being strengthened and refurbished to provide modern facilities for the community. A main contractor has been appointed and works are about to commence on the 9 month project.
The Bishopdale Library and Community Facility differs in that the existing building is too extensively damaged to be able to be economically repaired. Instead, a purpose built library and community hall will be built on the adjacent site that used to house the Bishopdale Crèche. The developed design has just been approved by the community board and detailing will commence with a contractor expected to start on site around June this year.
Cequent Projects were successful in obtaining the roles as lead consultant for two community projects for the Christchurch City Council.
