One of our Project Managers, Sarah Wootton, recently took some time off to travel to England to the world renowned Henley Women's Regatta with her rowing crew from the Wellington Rowing Club.
For the last 4 months, they have been training 6-12 times a week to get ready to compete at Henley Women’s Regatta. The regatta had entries from 9 different countries, of all skill levels. Sarah’s crew competed in the Club 8+ against 15 other boats, with the support of London Rowing Club providing the boat and they borrowed a coxswain from Upper Thames. The knockout, one-on-one style racing was a first for everyone in the crew. Although they weren’t fast enough to win the trophy, they still had a fantastic time! One of the most memorable experiences from the trip was rowing from Reading to Henley 16km up the river, through lochs and people’s back yards.
