A joint venture business between Air NZ and Pratt & Whitney (USA), Cequent was engaged to lead the design and construction of a new 6,600m² extension to an existing workshop and deliver a new 1500m² office facility
Designed and built under strict sustainability guidelines, the project will be LEED silver certified (USA equivalent of Green Star) and includes features such as insulated foam sandwich panel walls and roof, heat and rain water recovery systems and post tensioned joint free concrete floors.
This project involved the colocation of 3 different business operations into one new facility. The new Christchurch Engine Centre includes:
- Multi-bay portal frames structure with suitable allowances for required overhead cranes
- Service pits
- Post tensioned slab and foundations
The facility has 1,349m2 of office space and car parking for up to 400 cars.
