The flooding of the Waiho River in April 2016 completely destroyed the clients staff accommodation hotel.
The hotel was used as staff housing for the Scenic Hotel Franz Josef and Te Waonui Forest Retreat. The client engaged Cequent Projects to deliver a fast track project to re-house 120 staff by November 2016 ready for peak tourism season.
From the date of project initiation, Cequent delivered 54 accommodation units, a communal building, and a manager's house on green fields site within 6 months. This included the land purchase, clearance, consenting and management of five packages of work across multiple stages. The project was delivered within the client's time frame and their budget, and exceeded their expectations.
